Frequently asked questions
Can you provide night training?
Yes we can.
Do you provide a car for driver training?
Yes, we provide a modern, dual control, automatic vehicle for you to learn in.
Am I able to learn in my own car?
Yes, as long as it is roadworthy, registered and complies with RTA regulations for learner drivers.
Are you flexible with pick up and drop off points?
Yes, at Pronto Driving School we are happy to pick up and drop off from home, school, work etc. Just ensure you give us plenty of notice of your needs so we can plan ahead.
What area do you cover?
We are based in the North East and generally cover the area north to Golden Grove, south to Glen Osmond east to the foothills and west to the city's eastern edge. In some circumstances we will accept students outside of this area so give us a call on 0409 931193 and we will see what we can do.
Should I have 60, 90 or 120 minute lessons?
We would recommend 90 minutes sessions for most students. 60 minutes does not always give you enough time to get the practice in you may need but is a viable option if you are short of time or are worried about your attention span wandering. 120 minutes is a little long for some but is a good way to get in a good chunk of work if you have restrictions around how often you can take lessons.
What if I have to cancel a lesson?
When booking a lesson, the agreed time is exclusively reserved for you. If you cannot make the appointment, 24 hours notice must be given to Pronto Driving School as courtesy to your instructor and other students waiting for available times. Failing to do this may incur the full lesson cost.
What services do you offer?
Pronto Driving School can provide training for learners preparing for their VORT test to get their P1 licence. We can also provide training for those who need to refresh their driving skills or those who are new to this country and are looking to obtain their South Australian licence.
English is not my first language, can Pronto Driving School still teach me?
Yes. Your instructor has had over 15 years experience working with students whose English is not their first language. By using simpler language and diagrams we can still effectively teach you, even if your English is not the best.
I am a senior citizen. Do you have a training program suitable for me?
Yes, we can develop a customised program to meet the needs of our mature aged students to help refresh their driving skills.
How many lessons will I need before I can sit for my licence?
That is a difficult question to answer as it is dependent on so many other factors, such as, prior experience, confidence levels and your ability to practice outside of your structured lessons with your driving instructor. As a guide you could expect to be ready to take your VORT test after 6 to 10 lessons, but to an extent, it really will depend on you.
Can I use Pronto’s car for my VORT test?
Yes you can, and we would recommend you do so, so you are in a vehicle you are familiar with on the day.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash or direct debit. Further details can be found on the pricing page.
